The Covid-19 Antidote: 6 Tips to Free your Mind and Body

Do you feel bogged down and stuck in your body from too much Home Office? Have these strange Covid times pushed you into inertia?
Do you notice you can’t find the motivation to get up and move, do yoga, dance anymore?
Here are the 6 Tips to Get your Juices Flowing Again
- Turn on your favourite music and start moving to it, move like no one is watching.
- Slow down for a moment and come to a standing position.
- Start to pulse through your legs in a pumping movement up and down. Begin with a slow pulse, then go faster. Slow the pulsing movement down again and start to play with the tempo. How fast can you go? How slow? Move through your room, continuing to pulse and vary your rhythm. Play with the pulsing movement, get creative.
- Now, use your imagination. For example, use the image of the bouncing, dribbling movement a basketball player makes. Play with this image. Start to use it in your pulsing dance. Bring in another image, an eagle’s huge wings. Imagine the aerodynamic pulsing of its wings and bring it in through the movement of your arms. Keep going…
- Create a dance, moving between the basketball dribbling movement and the aerodynamic wing – pulse movement. Go back and forth between the 2, always playing with speed. Fast, slow, moderate, super fast. Your brain and body need and loves change. It enlivens you !
- Have fun! Enjoy waking up your body through movement and imagination for 20 minutes. Feel the effects of leaving your daily life behind you for a short period of time.
